Magyar Ifjúsági Értekezlet (MIÉRT for short) is a youth umbrella organisation that brings together Hungarian young people in Transylvania and is present in every county and community through hundreds of member organisations.
Our goal is to provide active and credible representation for the young generation while creating space for community experiences, opinion‑sharing and opportunities for growth.
Our mission is to ensure that young people are not only bystanders, but actual shapers of the society they live in. That’s why we work to strengthen their role in public life, support their personal and professional development, and offer them opportunities to participate at local, national and international level.
MIÉRT is a community force that connects more than 380 youth organisations from every corner of Transylvania – from cities, villages and regions where Hungarian young people live, study and create.
Our diversity is our strength: each member organisation represents its own community, yet together we form a network that is capable of creating real change.
Young people are at the centre of everything we do.
We organise trainings, events, camps and forums where they can learn, grow and build connections.
We support them in making their voices heard in public life and in taking an active role in decision‑making at local, county and national level.
We also place special emphasis on strengthening social dialogue, youth advocacy and values‑based leadership development.
We believe that young people are not just participants in the future – they are shaping the present as well.
This is why we work every single day to ensure that every Hungarian young person in Transylvania has the opportunity to unfold their potential – in their own community and beyond.
MIÉRT is led by young, committed community builders, headed by President Dóra Emese Szilágyi.
The 12‑member Executive Board and the 26‑member Council, together with several professional committees, ensure that the organisation operates in a dynamic, transparent and effective way – for young people, together with young people.
